About QCrypt Watch
Public-key cryptography underpins essentially every secure connection in use today, and the algorithms doing that work, RSA, Diffie-Hellman, elliptic curve, are the ones a cryptographically relevant quantum computer would break. Replacing them is a decade-long infrastructure program that has already started.
QCrypt Watch tracks that program. We follow standards bodies, regulators, vendors and deployments, and we translate the flow into something a migration lead, a CISO or an investor can act on: what changed, who it binds, and by when.
Methodology
- Primary sources first
- Every tracked item links back to a standards publication, regulatory notice, filing or vendor announcement. Analysis is labeled as analysis.
- Dated, not vibes
- Milestones carry an explicit date and issuing body. Projected dates are flagged as projections and revised as bodies publish.
- Importance scoring
- Items are scored 1–5 on how much they change migration planning, not on how much coverage they got.
- Readiness scoring
- Algorithm and national readiness scores combine standardization status, tooling availability, mandate clarity and observed deployment.
